I craft unique rite of passage, based on your beliefs, grounded in integrity and informed by tradition; rites beautiful, meaningful, and real.
Rites of passage are the markers of our lives–the rituals and moments that we use to lift up births, deaths, transitions to adulthood, formation of new families, and other major changes. I do weddings, ceremonies of union, child namings and dedications, coming-of-age rituals, and funerals on a regular basis, but I am also happy to create ceremonies for other occasions. It is my pleasure and honor to work with you to develop and conduct services that meet your spiritual, personal, and practical needs. Services can be informal or formal, theistic or not, big or small, indoors or out.
The process begins with a conversation by phone or email. When we meet in person I’ll start with a few questions about who you are and what the ceremony is about. Once we have gotten to know each other we will work together to make the service everything it should be: beautiful and meaningful and whole.
Unitarian Universalism has no set scripts and imposes no theologies–we believe in a “free and responsible search for truth and meaning”–so each ritual is unique. I encourage you to bring hopes, dreams, fantasies, and any readings or other materials you like, so that we can try to incorporate the things that are important to you.
